Our route of Romanticism will take you into the heart of the Cultural Landscape of Sintra, UNESCO World Heritage and its fabulous architectural monuments.

Our journey into the amazing 19th Century begins at Pena Park. Indulge in the intimacy of its gardens and large Victorian lakes. From here we will go to the “Pena” palace and it’s gorgeous architecture, as well as its romantic botanical gardens. Before the guided visit to the Pena Palace, you can lunch inside the palace, or bring your own picnic and have a pleasant lunch inside the lovely gardens.

After we will go to the highest point of the all mountain to enjoy its breathtaking views. In the way to the beautiful and original Chalet of Countess “D’Edla”, our next stage, we will discover the woods which are a tribute to the “Romanticism” movement.

The Mouros Castel, with about 1.000 years of history will be our last visit. Step back even further more in time we will also see the remains of villages from the Neolithic period with about five thousand years old.  

Optional Experience: Afterwards the Pena Park visit we will have a wine experience in one of the oldest wine regions of Portugal, created in the year of 1752 by Sebastião Melo, Marquis of Pombal a kind of Prime Minister and a very powerful men who became famous for being the responsible for the reconstruction of Lisbon after the 1755 terrible earthquake. This high quality fortified wine born in the Carcavelos Certified Wine Region and it will be here where we will visit the vineyards and two wineries. In the end, inside the original Winery, a beautiful building of the 19th century ordered to be built by the Marquis of Pombal, we will try 3 of this fine wines.
