Western Europe Beaches

  • Type: Walk Hike
  • Duration: About 4 hours | Difficulty: Moderate
  • Price from: 85€

Our hike begins at the continental Europe westernmost point, Cape Roca, where “the land ends and the sea begins”.
This ancient fisher man´s path leads us to discover the untouched beauty of wild Ursa beach, considered by Michelin Guide as one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. We will see this beach from above.

Continuing along impressive cliffs hugged by the mighty Atlantic, we will approach the Fojo, a natural well that connects to the sea and where the most daring can look to the 90 meters deep and find if the Romans had reason to believe that deep down there was a Triton playing music in a conch.

After, the beautiful Adraga beach, considered by the Sunday Times one of the 20 best beaches in Europe, will be our next stage. From here we will go in direction to another beautiful beach, our final goal. However, before, we will have the opportunity to go back in time, about 130 million years to see the dinosaur footprints, made during the Lower Cretaceous.

Optional Experience 1: Lunch will be at a charming restaurant located on the beach where we end the hike. The dishes served here, although traditional, are sophisticated, and the magnificent view, right in front of the ocean, is the ideal complement.

Optional Experience 2: The day will end with a visit to a local estate with a long family history. Located between the Atlantic Ocean and the Sintra Sierra, already within the Sintra-Cascais Natural Park, the wines of this charming estate are characterized by their aging-potential, character and complexity. Thanks to the proximity of the sea, these wines have strong savory sea notes, being also very fragrant, fresh and balanced. After visiting the vineyards and the winery, we will have a wine tasting where we will try their elegant wines.
