In this Walk Hike Wine 3 days vacation pack we share “off the beaten track” walking in the Sintra-Cascais Natural Park with you, mixed with wine tasting experiences and regional delicacies at local wineries, cellars and restaurants. Sustainable Tourism is our habitat, and our goal is to make you aware of one of the most beautiful and enigmatic landscapes in our country, the Sintra sierra, otherwise known as the Moon Hill, its unique forest, biodiversity, and huge promontories bathed by the majestic Atlantic Ocean. Sintra, untouched since the XIX century and World Heritage by Unesco since 1992, is a cultural treasure that we would like to help you discover.

We also make a point to include you in local communities, introduce you to our people so that you may experience our food, listen to our stories and share our secrets. Day 1 – The 3 Forest Path

The Sintra forest, besides it’s beauty, it´s also known of being in fact, not one but several forests in one, where we can find local species mixed with others from all over the world, many of them, exotic. This huge variety of species as it´s origin in the mid-nineteenth century, the Romanticism movement golden period, by the hand of D. Fernando King.

In this very intimist hike we will cross 3 of this forests, each one very beautiful and peculiar.  We also know a megalithic monument with more than 4.000 years and it´s terrific views, where we will have our picnic lunch.

After an impressive cedars forest, we will find a medieval setting provided by the  “Peninha“ shrine and the chapel of “St. Saturnino” with it´s 1000 years of history. From here, one of the highest points of the “Moon Mountain” (Sintra), about 500m high, the views are infinite. It will be with the warm colors of the sunshine light, penetrating in the canopy of the trees, that we will approach to the end of this beautiful hike.

Optional Experience: Our day will finish in the most western vineyard in Europe. This local farm, built in the 18th century, stands between the Atlantic Ocean and the Sintra sierra. Its wines are characterized by their aging-potential, character and complexity. After visiting the vineyards and the winery, we will have a wine tasting where we will try some of the most enigmatic fine wines of Portugal. Thanks to the proximity of the sea, this wines have a strong savory sea notes, being also very fragrant, fresh and balanced.

Day 2 – Where the Land Ends and the Sea Begins

In this day 3 our walkers will have a free morning, because our walk will start after lunch. It begins at the continental Europe westernmost point, Cabo da Roca, “where the land ends and the sea begins”.

This ancient fisher man´s path leads us to discover the untouched beauty of wild Ursa beach, considered by Michelin Guide as one of the most beautiful beaches in the world, as also one of the most beautiful coastlines in Europe.

Continuing along impressive cliffs hugged by the mighty Atlantic, we will approach the Fojo, a natural well that connects to the sea and where the most daring can look to the 90 meters deep and find if the Romans had reason to believe that deep down there was a triton playing music in a conch.

Our walk ends with a delicious grilled fresh fish at Adraga restaurant, located on the beautiful Adraga beach, considered by the Sunday Times one of the 20 best beaches in Europe. The Adraga restaurant was considered by Sergi Arola (2 Michelin stars), one of the most well known Chefs in the world, as “the best beach fish restaurant in the world”.

Day 3 – Sintra, Sierra of Secular Mysteries

In this day 5, we are going to meet a more mystical and occult Sierra de Sintra side, Humanity Universal Heritage. On this walk we will meet its people and their customs and feel what is considered the most beautiful and mystical Portuguese sierra.

We´ll go to one of its highest points, the “Peninha” shrine and marvel at the infinite views.

We will meet the most typical village of Sintra, whose beginnings date back to the sixteenth century, the “Holy Spirit” village. Known for its countless fountains and streams, is here that we will do our lunch in a rural tavern where we can taste the local food. After the meal, and along some horse breeders farms, we will enter again in a forest corridor toward to the “Capuchos” convent, where we will finish our hike.

Optional Experience: Our farewell dinner will be in the old town center of Colares, in a lovely local small town, in the space of a former tavern and grocery store. This restaurant offers original dishes that combine traditional flavors with a large dose of creativity.

Although the accommodations aren’t included in our base price (above), we consider two possibilities for these issue:

  • We recommend an hotel/guest house/hostel (several possibilities) according to a previous briefing of the client preferences, we also book the chosen hotel but it´s the client who pays directly to it.
  • The final proposal can include accommodations has an extra. The procedure is exactly as in the above item, except that in this case we handle everything with the hotel/guest house/hostel.

Booking Confirmation / Payment


Following your contact you’ll receive from us a confirmation email informing that still have availability for the pack you want (if available). In addition to this information, you will also receive our bank identification account for which should be made the transfer of the value. Once we have the booking confirmation transaction confirmed, we will send you an email with a tour agreement and a receipt concerning to the paid amount.

Schedule of payments:

  • 30% of the total amount to confirm the booking
  • Final payment is due 30 days prior to day 1 of the booked day

If sending payment from abroad, please ensure that all bank and other charges on the transaction are paid at your end so that the correct amount (in Euros) is received by us.

Cancellations / Changes


Since the Walk Hike Portugal develops an outdoor activity, these are exposed to the climatic / environmental conditions and constraints that these impose. Thus, the Walk Hike Portugal reserves the right to change itineraries or activities, if weather conditions may threaten our customers safety, as well as our team members. Below are some examples of weather / environmental condition that may or not allow our walks, or part of them:

  • Torrential rains
  • Strong thunderstorms
  • Strong winds
  • Landslide
  • Falling trees
  • Fires
  • Floods
  • Earthquakes
  • Sea storms

In these cases the walks will be run on another date to match or replaced by another, if possible. If the cancellation of the tour is an inevitability, either because the persistence of weather phenomena / environmental mentioned above, or customers inability to schedule, we will refund 75% of the amount paid, provided that cancellation occurs within 24 hours before the beginning of the purchased holiday pack. The remaining 25% will be for Walk Hike Portugal pay the logistics / bookings costs imply in all our walks.

In case the reason is due to withdrawal by customers, Walk Hike Portugal return 100% of the amount paid provided that it occurs until 60 days before the tour date. If the withdrawal occurs until 45 days before the tour date we will refund 75% of the amount paid. If the withdrawal occurs until 30 days before the tour we will refund 50% of the amount paid. If the withdrawal occurs later than 30 days before the tour we will not refund any of the amount paid.

If the client does not arrived at the appointed day, the Walk Hike Portugal disclaims any responsibility for non-performance all activities considered in the program booked by the customer, as well as the return of any amount for the money already paid by the customer. Walk Hike Portugal also reserves the right to reschedule the all program of activities of the booked program tour, according to what they understand to be the most viable option.
